To become a lifesaver you will require to sit a Bronze Medallion (BM) course; our Chief Training Office and resources with Surf Life Saving Australia will be their to assist you through the program there are additional Surf Lifesaving educational opportunities available through our club some of which include : Advanced Resuscitation Certificate, Spinal Management, Silver Medallion Beach Management, offshore Rescue Crew Certificate, offshore Rescue Boat Driver,

Those who become Lifesavers will be assigned to a patrol/group of which would be managed by a patrol captain Lifesavers at Garie Beach patrol on Weekends and Public Holidays under a rotational roster system. These are just some of the SLSA certificates that we encourage our patrolling members to attain in the course of their duties.

The transferable skills, training and experience across a wide range of activities gained during your time as a surf lifesaver have helped open doors within medical professions aswell as the defence Forces and other emergency services, People who are and have become a lifesaver are usually highly sought after to fill jobs in both the private and public sectors
